American Fine Arts Celebrates the Monumental Works of jd Hansen: APRIL 24 2021

American Fine Arts Foundry is pleased to welcome internationally recognized sculptor jd Hansen to the exhibition roster.

jd Hansen #ISDAY

Working primarily in bronze and finished in highly unique patinas and high gloss finishes, jd’s sculptures are informed by both human and animal form. On a visceral level her work explores the juxtaposition of vulnerability and strength. Her work conveys these emotional stories in physical form. The elongated figures & subtle body language presented in each work survey the dynamic complexities of human psychology, non-verbal communication and theories of quantum physics.

jd Hansen received her BFA from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. She has received numerous awards and her sculptures can be found in many private and corporate collections worldwide, including the permanent collection of Seven Bridges Museum in Greenwich, CT.

There is something beautiful and dangerous about a working foundry. It’s amazing that the technique of lost wax casting is still virtually unchanged for the last 7000 years. The startling thing is the timelessness of the art—the age-old technique of Lost Wax Casting.
