Texas A&M University Competition to Commission Public Art Installation

Texas A&M University announces an open competition for professional artists or artist teams to commission a site specific public art installation honoring Texas A&M University’s mascot, Reveille, a Rough Collie breed dog.

Reveille has been the mascot of Texas A&M since 1931, and she is known as the First Lady of Aggieland. Miss Rev, as she is affectionately called, is the highest-ranking member in the Corps of Cadets and wears five silver diamonds (the Corps Commander wears four). The current Reveille is the ninth dog to fill the role of mascot. Learn more about  opens in a new windowReveille.

There is something beautiful and dangerous about a working foundry. It’s amazing that the technique of lost wax casting is still virtually unchanged for the last 7000 years. The startling thing is the timelessness of the art—the age-old technique of Lost Wax Casting.
