17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards

The Way We Work + -

Uma Rodriguez from Modern Family explains the casting process.

A DECADES old foundry + -

American Fine Arts exclusively works on casting fine art projects in bronze and stainless steel.

Working With Passion + -

With Screen Actors Guild for 17 years now to produce the actor award statues. It's been a real pleasure and believe it or not the statue is still 12 pounds and in 2019 we cast six hundred and sixty bronze statues each one numbered and poured individually.

The Process + -

We receive the original sculpture from a local artist and make a mold. It's the lost wax casting method, a one-time unique hard copy piece is made, then covered in a temporary ceramic mold—followed by a bronze pour at 2000 degrees. The ceramic mold is then broken off, the casting is then finished and a special Screen Actors Guild Award patina applied.

it's our mission at American Fine Arts! Collaborating with Artisans, Artists & Architects nationally and internationally!

EVERY STEP OF THE 8-STEP PROCESS MUST BE 100% ACCURATE

1

Production of the
Original Sculpture

Although oil based clay is the most commonly used medium for sculptors, water-based clay, stone, wood or any number of other materials can be used. Complex pieces are normally built over a metal armature.

2

MAKING The Rubber
Mold

A high quality silicone rubber mold with a fiberglass or plaster case allows us to make a hollow wax impression of the original sculpture.

Bronze is Truly Beautiful!

“American Fine Arts Foundry enables me to capture the true essence of the beauty of bronze.”

~ Stacy Bayne Artist

Their Depth of Experience is Unparalleled!

"American Fine Arts depth of experience and disciplined approach prepared them for every challenge we presented, and made them a pleasure to deal with. The work was of the highest quality, and the professional attitude of the team was outstanding. They became integral team members. The luckiest day of that project was when we walked through their door.”
