The Shield Sconce produced by American Fine Arts for JONATHAN BROWNING STUDIOS

The Challenge: Mold and cast a lightweight, perforated, parabolic bronze sconce in four sizes.

PRODUCED FOR JONATHAN BROWNING STUDIOS

Shield Sconce 12”, 16”, 24”, 36” diameter X .125” thick

Delivering perfectly filled castings in four sizes had proven difficult for several other foundries to delivery consistently. By engineering a new mold and a complex gating system, the AFA team repeatedly achieves successful castings with all perforations intact. All sconces are delivered hand polished inside and out, prepped for plating. The diffuser is bead-blasted borosilicate glass.
